Promoting Japanese language and culture in Morocco
AMLCJ is an association dedicated to strengthening cultural, educational, and professional links between Morocco and Japan. Through language initiatives, cultural activities, examinations, and networking opportunities, AMLCJ supports people and institutions interested in Japanese culture and language.
A bridge between Moroccan and Japanese communities
AMLCJ brings together learners, teachers, professionals, cultural actors, and institutions with a shared interest in Japan and its relationship with Morocco.
The association works to make Japanese language and culture more accessible, while encouraging dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding between Moroccan and Japanese communities.
Main areas of action
AMLCJ contributes to the promotion of Japanese language and culture in Morocco through several recurring programs, services, and community initiatives.
JLPT Japanese Language Proficiency Test
AMLCJ oversees the organization of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), providing learners with an opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge and evaluate themselves across different levels.
The test offers benefits ranging from academic credit recognition and graduation certification in schools to preferential treatment in businesses and qualification recognition in society.
Speech Contest
AMLCJ supervises the organization of the Speech Contest, an annual event that assesses participants’ linguistic and communication skills through short speeches presented before a jury and the public.
The contest, now in its 22nd edition, includes various competitions and activities revolving around Japanese culture.
Events
AMLCJ organizes workshops, seminars, and other events targeting teachers, students, or a broader audience.
These events may take the form of teacher training, workshops on aspects of Japanese culture such as origami and ikebana, screenings including films and anime, Japanese language initiation, and more.
Liaison Point
AMLCJ creates a database of experienced Japanese language users available in Morocco and establishes connections with Japanese companies operating in Morocco as a valuable resource.
This free service aims to provide opportunities for introducing Japanese language students to the job market while offering companies an easily accessible resource for a wide range of services that might otherwise be challenging to access, such as translation, interpretation, surveys, and more.
Guiding principles
AMLCJ’s initiatives are guided by values that support meaningful cultural exchange and long-term cooperation.
Exchange
Encouraging dialogue and mutual understanding between Moroccan and Japanese communities.
Education
Supporting Japanese language learning, teaching, and cultural knowledge through accessible initiatives.
